Do you need some coping strategies when things aren’t going to well for you emotionally? For some of us it can feel overwhelming when we are faced with life’s challenges or all the little things slowly piling on top of each other so that life just feels a struggle. Would you like to find ways in helping you deal with this?
At Canolfan Pentre we run two groups under the name of ‘Cope in the Community’, one is for those struggling with Anxiety and Depression and the other for those struggling with bereavement. The idea behind the groups are to help you master some coping techniques so that you are better equipped to deal with what life has to throw at you, we will discuss how our body and emotions respond, the importance of self care, how to challenge and change negative thinking plus much more.
The idea behind the group is that you can dip in and dip out, we wanted a place for those who may be struggling to know that there is somewhere in the community that they can go to have a natter with a cuppa and know that they are not on their own because this is the true sense of a community isn’t it? There is a rolling programme that allows us to talk through our experiences giving a little direction
At the moment the groups are open to anyone over the age of 18, however it is stressed that these are emotional support groups and not one to one therapy, it’s important that we make sure that this is the right space for you therefore contact prior to attending group allows us to talk through your expectation of attending and any triggers that the person running the group needs to be aware of.
