Hypnotherapy is a completely natural state of mind; it is the point between sleep and wakefulness you may know it as ‘daydreaming’. It is a pleasant and relaxing experience allowing your conscious mind to switch off from the outer world and become more aware of your internal thoughts and feelings this is your subconscious or unconscious mind.
Everyone’s experience of hypnotherapy is unique to them, it is not sleep and you are in control at all times (despite what you may have seen with stage hypnotism which is a different process altogether).
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses Hypnosis to bring about the relaxed state allowing access to your subconscious mind where your old, negative habits or beliefs exist and encourage your subconscious to find solutions to your problems by way of suggestion. It is a very gentle process and gives very effective results.
How a session works:
We work together to find solutions to your issues, I only use suggestions that are beneficial to you and that have been agreed prior to the hypnotherapy part of the session, I am an ethical therapist and would never work in a way that would be detrimental to your well being.
Is it suitable for everyone?
For most people it is extremely safe and effective however there are a few instances where it is advisable not to use hypnotherapy these are; if you have had a psychosis, are in the 1st trimester of pregnancy, under 18 (parental consent has to be given) or epileptic. If you have any concerns I would always advise that you ask your G.P for approval before seeking treatment with me.
